Emotional preparation for motherhood

The emotional preparation for motherhood is very important. The birth preparation courses often focus on medical and technical information about the birth process, the medicalization of birth and traditional childcare. Teach breathing exercises and show pictures of births, given data, but usually leave out the huge emotional implications of the birth of a new mother.
The physical aspects of the changes of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period is important to know them thoroughly, but it is less deeply into the emotion and feelings that these processes lead to the life of the mother and your partner.
Maternal Thinking about this project, an association of doulas, has organized a course called "Preparing emotionally for motherhood" that I find really interesting.
This course aims to provide expectant mothers and parents a more complete picture of the changes that motherhood will in their lives, giving the importance that they deserve to emotional states and their implications during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium . Last 8 weeks during pregnancy and complete the program with two sessions when the baby is born.
Doulas sessions lead them to experience and receive support from other professionals associated with maternity. The program, of course, focuses on the emotional, affective needs and the importance of the link, without neglecting the medical implications, food and practices.
